Recently, the Finnish Government has also introduced changes to the Employment Contracts Act that weaken employees’ position.

For example, in sectors such as the food and forest industries, commerce, and NGOs lack collective agreements for senior salaried employees. In these fields, Loimu members must be able to negotiate and agree on many terms in their employment contracts that, elsewhere, are covered by collective agreements negotiated by unions.
