Are you a PhD graduate considering your career options? Or are you contemplating postgraduate studies and wondering about the career opportunities a PhD might bring? 

Many PhD graduates work outside academia. The goal of the "PhD outside the university" career evenings is to broaden the understanding of the employment opportunities available to PhD graduates and to highlight the advantages and professional skills that a PhD provides in the job market. 

Come and learn about the diverse career paths of PhDs! These events are dialogic, and you will also have the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers. 

The events are organized in collaboration with The Union of Professionals in Natural, Environmental and Forestry Sciences Loimu, Social Science Professionals YKA and Tohtoriverkosto.   

Time: The third event organized by Loimu is held on Thu Nov 7th at 6-7 pm. Members of all three organizing organizations can participate the event with unlimited seating. Event language will be English.

How does research work look like in the R&D department of a company? What does it take to make the career move from academia to company world?

• PhD Gotmathy Chakkaradhari who is R&D Manager working for international chemical manufacturing company Umicore, which is focusing on sustainable solutions and
  
• PhD Salla Laine who is Head of R&D IVD Chemistry at Uniogen, a diagnostic manufacturing company in life science.
